On November 27, 2024, the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) published a final rule in the Federal Register that amended the Area Risk Protection Insurance (ARPI), Basic Provisions, and various Crop Provisions.

The following changes apply for the 2025 and succeeding crop years for the November 30, 2024, contract change date and for the 2026 and succeeding crop years for crops with earlier contract change dates:

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) recognizes the need for authorizing emergency procedures to streamline certain determinations to accelerate the adjustment of losses and issuance of indemnity payments to crop insurance policyholders in impacted areas.

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) issued Product Management Bulletin PM-24-039 on June 27, 2024, announcing changes to several policies under the Expanding Options for Specialty and Organic Growers (EOSOG) Final Rule. The Common Crop Insurance Provisions Basic Provisions, Area Risk Protection Insurance Basic Provisions, and 7 individual Crop Provisions were released at that time.

For the Common Crop Insurance Policy, the Risk Management Agency (RMA) approved 2024 CY harvest prices for insurance offers with a harvest price discovery period of August 15, 2024, through September 14, 2024. For the Common Crop Insurance Policy and Area Risk Protection Insurance, RMA approved 2025 CY projected prices and volatility factors for insurance offers with a projected price discovery period of August 15, 2024, through September 14, 2024.

In accordance with Section 15 of the ARPI Crop Provisions, Section 10 of the SCO Endorsement, Section 10 of the ECO Endorsement, and Section 9 of the STAX Cotton Crop Provisions, approved final county yields, final county revenues, and payment factors for the 2023 crop year will be available by close of business today in the following formats:
