On August 25, 2021, the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation Board of Directors approved the following changes to the Apiculture (API) and Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF) crop insurance programs for the 2022 crop year.
In accordance with Section 8 of the Rainfall and Vegetation Index Plan Common Policy Basic Provisions, final grid indices and payment calculation factors have been determined and approved for the following:
Extreme drought conditions are causing damage to sugar beets in many parts of the nation. Stakeholders are concerned about the potential for inconsistent application of the Early Harvest Adjustment (EHA) for drought-damaged sugar beets.
The Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018 (Farm Bill) included provisions to improve the effectiveness of WFRP. Per the Farm Bill, RMA has continued to solicit stakeholder recommendations. In response to stakeholder feedback from organic groups, aquaculture producers, and small, highly diversified producers, RMA recommended changes to the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation Board of Directors (FCIC Board). In addition, RMA worked with stakeholders to identify other improvements to WFRP not related to the Farm Bill.
