The Standard Reinsurance Agreement requires a periodic review of approved insurance providers (AIPs) operations in order to confirm program compliance and the integrity of the Federal crop insurance program. The United States Department of Agriculture, Risk Management Agency (RMA) performs an AIP Performance Review (APR) of each AIP approximately once every three years, unless additional reviews are warranted.

These reviews are intended to address suspected anomalies and program integrity concerns, or to assure that a company’s internal control processes are operational and effective.
