On May 23, 2024, the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) Board of Directors approved the Fire Insurance Protection - Smoke Index (FIP-SI) Endorsement. It is available beginning with the 2025 crop year as additional coverage for the Common Crop Insurance Policy, Basic Provisions and the Actual Production History Grape Crop Provisions in counties located in California. The coverage provided by this Endorsement may be combined with the Supplemental Coverage Option (SCO) Endorsement or the Catastrophic Risk Protection Endorsement (CAT).

For the Common Crop Insurance Policy and Area Risk Protection Insurance, the Risk Management Agency (RMA) approved 2024 CY harvest prices for insurance offers with a harvest price discovery period of July 1, 2024, through July 31, 2024. Per LPRA Appendix IV, AIPs shall identify and conduct an inspection on any eligible livestock price insurance contract (ELPIC) with an indemnity of $200,000 or more.1 On April 12, 2019, RMA issued COM-19-001 to address the $200,000 Indemnity Review ($200K Review) requirements for aggregating losses by endorsement or insurance period for the Dairy Revenue Protection (DRP), Livestock Gross Margin (LGM), and Livestock Risk Protection (LRP) plans of insurance.
