MGR-20-009: COVID-19 and Crop Insurance Deadlines – Additional Relief

Background

Many state and local governments have issued “stay at home” orders in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which may preclude agents from meeting with policyholders or potential policyholders to obtain signatures associated with various reporting requirements, written agreements, and the purchase of new coverage or adjustments to current policy elections.

MGR-20-008: COVID-19 Relief: Self-Certification Replant Inspections & Assignment of Indemnity Witness Waiver

Background

Many state and local governments have issued “stay-at-home” orders in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which may prevent loss adjusters from completing on-the-farm replant inspections and obtaining associated signatures required for replant certification purposes. In the absence of “stay-at-home” orders, loss adjusters and policyholders may also be prevented from meeting in person due to concerns of spreading COVID-19.

Background

In accordance with Section 8 of the Rainfall and Vegetation Index Plan Common Policy Basic Provisions, final grid indices and payment calculation factors have been determined and approved for the following:

MGR-20-007: COVID-19 Relief – Deferral of Interest Charges on Crop Insurance Premiums

Background

Many state and local governments have issued “stay at home” orders in response to the COVID-19. Concerns have been expressed about the requirement to pay crop insurance premiums timely to avoid accrual of interest.

Section 24 of the Common Crop Insurance Policy, Basic Provision (BP) states that interest will accrue starting the first day of the month, following issuance of the notice of premium due by the Approved Insurance Provider (AIP), provided that a minimum of 30 days has passed from the premium billing date.
