Background

The Grass Seed Insurance Program has been piloted to determine acceptance by producers as an effective and affordable risk management tool and to assure the program is actuarially sound. The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation Board of Directors (Board) granted approval for the conversion of the program from pilot to permanent status based on the favorable pilot program experience.

Background

The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) revised the Area Risk Protection Insurance (ARPI) Regulations, Common Crop Insurance Policy (CCIP) Basic Provisions, and Coarse Grains Crop Provisions for the 2021 crop year for crops with a contract change date on or after June 30, 2020. For all other crops the changes are applicable for the 2022 and succeeding crop years. The changes implement section 11122 of the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (2018 Farm Bill) that required FCIC research and develop methods of adjusting for quality losses.

Background

The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) revised the MCEU Endorsement for the 2021 and succeeding crop years for crops with a June 30, 2020, and later contract change date. The changes will provide greater flexibility for policyholders who elect enterprise units for both irrigated and non-irrigated practices and discover they do not qualify on or before the acreage reporting date.

The 2021 Appendix III to the Standard Reinsurance Agreement and the Livestock Price Reinsurance Agreement (Appendix III) has been updated with approved modifications. Appendix III is available electronically via the Risk Management Agency (RMA) website at www.rma.usda.gov/Policy-and-Procedure under the Appendix III/M-13 directory.
