Background

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) derives prices for certain programs by applying factors to projected and harvest prices established in accordance with the Commodity Exchange Price Provisions (CEPP). The factors for organic oats and organic rye are provided below.

The “CEPP Section II: Oats” document authorizes RMA to derive organic oat prices. In accordance with this document, the following 2024 CY organic price factor will be applied to derive organic oats prices:

Background

Due to the continuing severe drought conditions impacting many parts of the nation, producers are struggling to find adequate supplies of feed or forage, causing them to market their livestock sooner than anticipated.

The Livestock Risk Protection (LRP) Basic Provisions requires livestock to be owned by the producer within the last 60 days of the insurance period or the endorsement is terminated with premium owed, but no indemnities payable.

Background

Prevented planting is a feature of many crop insurance plans that provides a payment to cover certain pre-plant costs for a crop that was prevented from being planted due to an insurable cause of loss. The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) published a Request for Information in the Federal Register on May 23, 2023, soliciting public comments on possible changes to the prevented planting provisions of the Common Crop Insurance Policy (CCIP), Basic Provisions.
