MGR-24-006.1: Additional Emergency Procedures for Crops Damaged by Hurricane Helene and Continuing Impacts from Hurricane Debby

BACKGROUND

On October 3, 2024, the Risk Management Agency (RMA) issued MGR-24-006, Emergency Procedures for Crops Damaged by Hurricane Helene and Continuing Impacts from Hurricane Debby, authorizing emergency procedures for all counties in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia impacted by Hurricanes Debby and/or Helene.

Since the issuance of MGR-24-006, RMA has received requests for additional emergency loss adjustment procedures and information regarding interest deferral.

PM-24-039.2: Expanding Options for Specialty and Organic Growers (EOSOG) Final Rule Effective for the 2025 and Succeeding Crop Years

BACKGROUND:

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) issued Product Management Bulletin PM-24-039 on June 27, 2024, announcing changes to several policies under the Expanding Options for Specialty and Organic Growers (EOSOG) Final Rule. The Common Crop Insurance Provisions Basic Provisions, Area Risk Protection Insurance Basic Provisions, and 7 individual Crop Provisions were released at that time.

MGR-24-006: Emergency Procedures for Crops Damaged by Hurricane Helene and Continuing Impacts from Hurricane Debby

BACKGROUND:

Hurricane Helene caused catastrophic damage in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. There are also continuing impacts from Hurricane Debby in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The Risk Management Agency (RMA) recognizes the need for authorizing emergency procedures to streamline certain determinations to accelerate the adjustment of losses and issuance of indemnity payments to crop insurance policyholders in impacted areas.

MGR-24-005: 2025 Crop Year County Perennial Crop Program Expansion

BACKGROUND:

The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation has expanded the number of counties where certain crops are insurable for the 2025 crop year having an August 31 thru December 31 contract change date. The following attachment, 2025 Expansion of Existing Perennial Crop Programs, lists the expansion by crop, state, and county.

ACTION:

Approved Insurance Providers should advise producers of the expanded county crop programs for the 2025 crop year.
