PM-24-087: Educational Tools for Hurricane Insurance Protection - Wind Index and the Tropical Storm Option

BACKGROUND:

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) developed HIP-WI in 2020 and TS in 2023. Since implementation, these programs have paid over $1.5 billion within a few weeks after each tropical cyclone. In 2024 alone, five hurricanes triggered $770 million in payments across nine states (Hurricanes Beryl, Debby, Francine, Helene, and Milton).

PM-24-086: 2025 Crop Year Commodity Exchange Price Provisions – Peanuts Factors: January 31, 2025, Sales Closing Date

BACKGROUND:

The CEPP – Peanuts factors necessary to establish the insured’s amount of protection under the peanut program for the 2025 CY are identified below. The factors are applied to the commodity prices for wheat, cotton, soybean oil, and soybean meal during the discovery period of December 15, 2024, to January 14, 2025. These factors apply only to states with an SCD of January 31, 2025.

MGR-24-008: 2025 Crop Year County Spring Crop Program Expansion

BACKGROUND:

The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation has expanded the number of counties where certain crops are insurable for the 2025 crop year having a November 30 or December 31 contract change date. The following attachment, 2025 Expansion of Spring Crop Programs, lists the expansion by crop, state, and county.

ACTION:

Approved Insurance Providers should advise producers of the expanded county crop programs for the 2025 crop year.
