Crop Insurance Resources Available for Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin Producers

Final Planting Date Maps Updated for 2016 Crops

SAINT PAUL, Minn., Mar. 22, 2016 – USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) announced the updated final planting date maps are now available for all crops insured under the federal crop insurance program in Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The final planting date maps are available on the St. Paul Regional Office website.

Crop insurance provides protection against decreases in revenue and crop production losses due to natural perils such as drought and excessive moisture. Producers have a number of coverage choices, including yield coverage, revenue protection and area risk policies.

Producers, insurance agents, and insurance company employees are encouraged to use these resources to reference the final planting dates for crops in the St. Paul Region. Additional information can be found on the Actuarial Information Browser page on the RMA website.

Crop insurance is sold and delivered solely through private crop insurance agents. A list of crop insurance agents is available at all USDA Service Centers and online at the RMA Agent Locator. Producers can use the RMA Cost Estimator to get a premium amount estimate of their insurance needs online. Learn more about crop insurance and the modern farm safety net at www.rma.usda.gov.
